The heart of the project is Fortune Plaza, a public square that relates both to the shopping galleria along Huaxin Road and to the central park. Four 100-meter high towers with offices, hotel and service apartment units mark this high-density landmark. The central park offers an attractive focus for both the commercial and the housing blocks. On the northern side a spine of office buildings functions as a noise and pollution buffer towards the motorway.
The buildings face the central park, establishing a representative address. Landscaped courtyards with activities that spill from the buildings separate the office blocks from each other. The small scale International Business Center in the east establishes a distinct office area for foreign companies. The housing neighborhoods use the existing terraced topography to give the open space both a distinctive identity and continuity. Lower density housing is oriented to the park with its sports and recreation facilities. The high-rise housing in the south corresponds to the scale of the neighboring developments and protects the internal landscape. Special attention has been given to the preservation of natural resources, energy conservation, cross ventilation and pollution control. Interactive facades and passive gain support both economics and a sustainable approach.
