            - -The new identity of the Goethe-Institut should be generated by written and spoken words as well. For this reason, the spatial and functional link between teaching and library area is amplified. Instead of keeping the strong division between the two zones, the functions now stretch over the entire floor area. By covering the patio, the space is transformed into the Institute’s central area for visitors. The combination with the adjacent rooms enlarges the patio and permits it’s use as an event space. The existing areas are minimally expanded and at the same time optimized functionally and strengthened atmospherically. The addition of all small, punctual interventions generates a new conceptual approach for the Goethe-Institute in Bratislava. |
